The Australian building and construction industry has recognised its highest achievers in the prestigious Master Builders’ National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards for 2011.
The Awards recognise the stand-out exemplars of excellence in building and construction in Australia.
The winners showcase the entrepreneurship, the innovation, and the commitment to continuous improvement which drives a vibrant and vital building and construction industry. They have demonstrated they are ‘the best of the best’, by delivering the highest quality of work in their projects, setting the standards to which others in the industry can aspire.
National Alterations/Additions/Renovations Award – $250,000 to $400,000: StepUP Constructions, Warriewood, NSW;
StepUP Constructions wins 1st Place at Master Builders Association Awards

On Saturday 3rd September, StepUP Constructions was awarded 1st PLACE by The Master Builders Association (MBA) for BEST House Addition/Alterations/Renovations in NSW ($250,001-$350,000).
It was an exciting black tie event with over 1,000 attendees at Darling Harbour Convention Centre thoroughly enjoyed by the StepUP Constructions team.
"We are very proud of our win and proud to be able to claim that we are now a multi-award winning business. We just want to take this opportunity to thank you, our valued customers and suppliers", said Brett and Kammi Beuzeville.
Judge's comment: "Cathedral roofs, raked TG ceilings, use of engineered timbers, and good use of space was all very professional in this project. More importantly the works and attention to detail was faultless."

Extension Makes Cottage the Ultimate Family Beach House

Stepup Constructions celebrated their success at the 2010 HIA CSR NSW Housing Awards on Saturday night.
The Warriewood company won the Renovation/Addition Project Under $300,000 category for their Mona Vale project.
Judges said, “considerable thought has gone into the construction of this rear extension to make this cottage the ultimate family beach house. Detailing and characteristics of the existing dwelling have informed the detailing of the new internal and external living spaces. Substantial space is provided for extended family entertaining. The use of skylights brings abundant sunlight into the centre of the house. The upper level is setback ensuring the character of the existing dwelling is maintained.”
HIA’s partner for the title is Stratco.
Congratulating Stepup Constructions on such an outstanding achievement, HIA’s NSW Executive Director, David Bare, said the 40th anniversary awards were an excellent display of the housing industry’s capacity, innovation and resilience in difficult circumstances.
“It is encouraging to see that in challenging times HIA’s builders and designers have maintained their commitment to excellence. The high calibre of entries shows that support for these awards has yet again been incredible.”
“Major winners tonight can look forward to progressing to HIA’s national awards next year and we wish them every success.”
The awards were held in front of a sell-out black-tie audience at the Sydney Convention Centre. Special guests included Minister for Planning, Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Lands, Tony Kelly; Shadow Minister for Planning and Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Brad Hazzard; Paul Manks, Regional General Manager, CSR Lightweight Systems and HIA’s NSW President, Martin Walsh.
This year’s theme was Treasures of the East. Guests were entertained by the spectacular 1001 Arabian Nights show. MC for the evening was witty media presenter and comedian, Amanda Keller.
The Association’s showcase awards night recognise excellence in housing innovation, material selection, design, construction and services to the NSW residential building industry.
